09.11.2006Medallion - IL-2 Forgotten Battles (pc) - Ace Gamez - arvio: 10/10IL-2 Sturmovik: The Forgotten Battles is the doubtless the best flight-sim ever made: startling realism, excellent graphics and addictive gameplay make for an award-winning title. And though it may not have been in the minds of the developers at the time, it is a fitting tribute to the men who died in the skies above the Russian Front, fighting for their cause - in IL-2 Sturmovik, there is no good side and bad side, just regular men, called to fight a war that was, for too many of them, their last hurrah. |
09.11.2006Medallion - IL-2 Forgotten Battles (pc) - PC Games - arvio: 95%Welcome to the most authentic, challenging, and beautiful pre-jet age combat flight sim ever made. |
09.11.2006Medallion - IL-2 Forgotten Battles (pc) - Ign - arvio: 8,5/10In the meantime though, there's plenty to enjoy here both in terms of online and offline play. Its few shortcomings are more than balanced out by the tremendous modeling both in terms of physics and visuals. I won't be putting this one down for a while. |
09.11.2006Medallion - IL-2 Forgotten Battles (pc) - GameSpy - arvio: 4/5Forgotten Battles has a few pockets of turbulence, but it is still the best recent flight simulation available, and a courageous effort. The superior graphics and flight modeling are unmatched, and game's many solitaire and multiplayer options give it long life on the hard drive. Forgotten Battles is like a cantankerous old warbird, tough on novices but rewarding for the skilled flier. It took practice to develop proficiency with those old crates, and probably a lot of bravery too. |
09.11.2006Medallion - The Chronicles of Riddick (pc) - Game Chronicles - arvio: 9,6/10The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay - Developer's Cut is a wonderful mix of action and stealth, plus you have the character of Riddick, crass, egotistical, and tough as nails. He’s a villain cast into a world of even worse villains ultimately making him the unlikely hero he is destined to become in Pitch Black and the sequel. If the gameplay isn’t enough to grab you then the audio and visual presentation will certainly make this a showcase title for your expensive new video card, one that will wow your friends. It’s a definite must-have addition to any action gamer’s library. |
09.11.2006Medallion - The Chronicles of Riddick (pc) - GameSpy - arvio: 4,5/5The Chronicles of Riddick may be a movie tie-in, but it's a really good one. It eschews many of the cliches that bog down other first person shooters, and it gives you tasty side dishes of RPG and adventure gaming to go along with the action genre. Add on top of all that the excellent production values, impressive voice acting, tight script, bonuses like Commentary Mode, and a reduced price, and you've got very few excuses not to pick it up. |
09.11.2006Medallion - The Chronicles of Riddick (pc) - Ign - arvio: 8,8/10The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay is an excellent hybrid of first-person shooting, adventure and RPG elements, stealth and combat. What's even more impressive is that Vivendi Universal Games and Starbreeze were able to put a creative, original game outside the set story of a movie. The equal blend of game elements is superbly crafted, and I am honestly surprised at enjoyable the stealth and hand-to-hand combat really is. |
09.11.2006Medallion - The Chronicles of Riddick (pc) - Game Within - arvio: 9,3/10Escape From Butcher Bay is a polished, perfectly paced action-adventure and its quality encompasses the entire campaign, which, while short, has enough content to warrant a second play-through. And, despite the lack of any multiplayer modes, I'm simply content to rave about this PC title, which has helped to rekindle my love for gaming. |
09.11.2006Medallion - The Chronicles of Riddick (pc) - Games Xtreme - arvio: 9,3/10Regardless of the length of the game though I should point out that what you do get is a perfect addition to the Riddick Universe and it should be noted that in some ways it outperforms Doom 3 for atmosphere and downright scariness. It’s well worth getting especially if you’re a fan of Vin and the whole Riddick mythos, it answers many questions the movies don’t and provides a good insight into the penal system of Riddick’s future. |
09.11.2006Medallion - The Chronicles of Riddick (pc) - Gameguru Mania - arvio: 92%Overall, playing Riddick is very enjoyable whether or not you are a fan of the movie series, and much more if you already know about Riddick. The gameplay is neat and slick and incorporate many type of gameplays. The stealth is incorporated extremely well, and the hand-to-hand fighting is extraordinary, though the controls could be a bit smoother in this area. But for a game that was designed exclusively to make the most of the Xbox, it's a major surprise just how smooth its transition to the PC really is. |
09.11.2006Medallion - IL-2 Forgotten Battles (pc) - PC Game World - arvio: 91%The graphics are extraordinary. Everything is crisp and attractive. Dynamic, realistic shadows are the flavour of the month in games, and BB doesn’t disappoint here, either. Normal mapping is also used to good effect, giving surfaces a gritty, believable look. Animations are outstanding and not at all ungainly. |
08.11.2006Barrow Hill (pc DVD) - Four Fat Chicks - arvio: 5/5It's the realism that makes the supernatural elements seem so menacing, the beautifully designed, multi-layered puzzles with their much-appreciated clues, the dark atmosphere, lovely graphics, and the restrained, perfectly pitched sounds that make this game an experience. It's a thinker's game, of course. Those addicted to slash, smash and blast won't find anything here to feed their needs. But if you complain about standard-issue, find-the-hot-spot, just-another-puzzle adventure games, try Barrow Hill. |
08.11.2006Barrow Hill (pc DVD) - Smackthejack - arvio: 4,5/5Kaikkiaan kyseessä on kuitenkin yksi tämän vuoden ehdottomasti vahvimmista seikkailupeleistä, joka imaisee pelaajan syvemmälle sisäänsä, kuin aluksi uskoisikaan. Mikä parasta, peli pyörii myös vanhemmilla tietokoneilla. |
