It takes elements from older similar games, and adds in a lot of player freedom to carve their niche in a constantly changing world. Everything takes on a life of its own when it's not just you against the computer, when you're protecting an actual person's goods against attacks that can really come at any time from any number of properly organized foes. It's that life that sets the game apart. |

It makes the most of modern technology to bring a classic game world up to date, throws in simple but intuitive controls and doesn't rely on constant fire-fights to bring excitement. Tomb Raider was always more of a platformer than an action game, and this is exactly what the guys at Crystal Dynamics have delivered. |

Placing you into the sensible shoes of a brainy professor who finds himself entangled in a dangerous spy game during World War II, Wintersun sets itself apart from its point and click brethren not only by providing puzzles that actually make sense, but also cheekily tossing a few red herrings your way. It's smart, but not unfair, a rarity in a genre that delights in difficulty for difficulty's sake. |

Either way, when Hard to be a God is released, the competition will have to work hard to match it. |

Left-click serves to give small observations about items, and right-click performs an intelligent context-sensitive action such as "take," "talk to" or "use." By pressing and holding the X key, all of the available interactive spots are highlighted so the game is further simplified by removing the need to hunt for elusive hotspots. Jack can also speed through environments with a double-click of the mouse buttons so the overall pace of the game is kept fluid. |

If you're one of them, maybe you should focus, instead, on the simple fact that Dynasty Warriors 6 is absolutely up there with the best of the series so far. It's as good as the game has ever been, and so there's never been a better time to try it out. And if it's still not for you, well then it's still not for you, but at least you tried. If you are one of the Dynasty Warrioring gaming public, you will buy this and love this. So it's a good job Koei keeps trying. |
