While this system is great for tracking progress, the real selling point is that it works across all modes of the game, online and offline, competitive, solo or co-op. Every time you kill an enemy in a way that fits into one of the three A.C.E.S. categories (marksman, close-quarters, assault), you'll get points that count towards new weaponry from that category. |
18.03.2008rFactor (pcDVD) - AcaGamez- arvio: 10/10 !Don't expect to be able to pick up and play rFactor, as it's a difficult beast to tune into - if you aren't used to simulations and have only played console 'sims' like Project Gotham Racing and Forza Motorsport then you'll be shocked at the difficulty unless you play with all the driving aids, which somewhat defeats the point. Pulling off a new fastest lap with hours of effort is substantially rewarding though, so I implore you to dive in and persevere - and make sure you have a decent steering wheel! |

13.03.2008Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (pc, ps3, xbox360) - EuroGamer - (silencer) video (k16)Silencers are brilliant: you're not a professional killer until you have one, as everyone knows. They make that lovely little sound too. We asked around the office and "zzp", "thwp", and "chk" were our best silencer impersonations. No vowels. Too noisy. These crafty little screw-on attachments are very handy in Rainbow Six Vegas 2. It makes sense that taking on a building full of hostile targets becomes much easier when you can catch them off guard by using a stealthy approach rather than a crash, bang, and wallop one. This is expertly demonstrated in our exclusive Silencer Gameplay Eurogamer TV trailer. |

Newcomers who simply want to wade into a war by wildly swinging their swords may find what they are looking for here, while series veterans will find themselves back in familiar territory as they battle through the threads of China's tumultuous past. |

05.03.2008LOST (PC, PS3, Xbox 360) - Ferrago/Play.tm - arvio: 80%Luckily, the polish applied by Ubisoft Montreal sees Lost: The Videogame emerge as a fitting homage to the television series, awash in mystery. Like the show itself, it occasionally frustrates and certainly isn't as complex or involving a proposition as the best examples of the third-person action adventure genre. Nor does it do much more than scratch the surface of what is possible. Then again, we are offered up a compelling story, classically 'Lost' in fact, and fans will be more than titillated by this. |

It's an enjoyable romp of a point and click adventure, it manages to maintain a fun sense of humour, and it is the perfect antidote to the domination of instant gratification in first-person shooters and real-time strategy games. Jack Keane is well worth anyone's time and should cause a chuckle or two as well. |
04.03.2008Jack Keane (pc) - GameBoomers- arvio: parasta A-ryhmääRemember the Monkey Island games? Well, Jack Keane is straight out of that genre. Rearranging the employee of the month paintings, and finding a monkey-powered electric fence could so easily have come straight from the piratical adventures of Guybrush. So many other features of the game reference the classic: the graphical style has that same warped cartoon feel, the characters are full of inverted stereotypes, and the puzzles scream for a logic that would defy the great George Boole himself! (He invented the True/False logic that digital computers are based upon.) All in all, I got a big game, with plenty to do. I never died, there weren't any subtle colour-based or sound-based challenges, and I never found a dead end in the story. There were a few minor glitches with some objects -- it's possible to duplicate the umbrella and red garter (wherever they might be), but nothing that really affects the gameplay. The game certainly never crashed, even when I Alt-Tab'd back to the Windows desktop. |

Oma reaktioni oli aluksi väkivaltaisen negatiivinen, mutta hetken pelailtuani totuin pelin rytmiin ja opin hyödyntämään uusia liikkeitä. Kokemus ei siis ole samanlainen kuin tiukka vääntö kaverin kanssa olohuoneen sohvalla, mutta on siinäkin jotain hohtoa, että antaa ventovieraalle verkkopelaajalle turpaan isän kädestä. |
28.02.2008Agon - The Lost Sword of Toledo (pc) - HonestGamer - arvio: 8/10f you’ve been playing the earlier Agon games this is probably a natural purchase, but don’t let lack of experience with the previous games put you off. It stands up just fine by itself, and there is a detailed codex that outlines the professor’s adventures in the past episodes if you’re so inclined. It isn’t as extravagant or exciting as many of the new-school adventures that have been hitting our shops in recent months, but The Lost Sword of Toledo is a solid package that does the important things right. |
28.02.2008Jack Keane (pc) - AceGames - arvio: 9/10 !Jack Keane is the most enjoyable point-and-click adventure I've played in a long time. It will appeal to almost every adventure fan, as the puzzles gradually get harder, while the game successfully reproduces the vibrant, humorous and slick atmosphere and antics of beloved classics of this proud genre, like Sam & Max and Monkey Island. It's the kind of game that should attract newcomers to the genre too, as it has everything you could ask for in an adventure: a charismatic hero, intelligent puzzles, lovingly crafted presentation and a compelling storyline with plenty of twists, wacky characters and bundles of humour. |
26.02.2008Persona 3 (ps2) - Eurogamer - arvio: 9/10 !Granted, there will always be those for whom story-led gaming and turn-based battles are a complete turn-off, and for those people, Persona 3 is unlikely to be a Road to Damascus experience. For the rest of us, though, this is one of the finest RPGs on the PS2 - and that, in itself, is a huge accolade. If your PS2 has been gathering dust, now is definitely time to bring out the old warhorse - and if this is its last gallop, then at least it's also one of its finest. |
